Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
My wife took the kids to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory yesterday. All enjoyed it but came away with the same reaction: why remake it? Now, I expected that reaction from my wife, but when the kids shrug at a remake, you have to wonder what the point was.
(The point was that it got them in the seats, naturally, which I suppose they did.)

I also asked “why remake it,” but only BEFORE I saw the movie. Now I don’t care why they made it - I’m just glad they did! Yeah, Willy Wonka was a little disturbing…and the Oompa Loompas were disturbing…and the grandparents were disturbing…and the pink sheep - well, I don’t want to talk about them.
We laughed hard AND lost some IQ points watching that movie. It was great!
